Charles Sebold
The frustrated engineer, writer, and daydreamer behind all of this.
Charles Sebold
Primary Engineer. Head Writer. Chief Daydreamer.
Thirty-plus years in IT. Forty-plus years writing software. One person responsible for internal systems managing 70+ years of data for tens of thousands of people, and an external system with nearly 200,000 active users handling their financial portfolios via mobile and desktop. He’s been around the block enough times to have worn a groove in it.
He is the founder and sole developer of Foundry-9 LLC, a software development firm, and has been known to dabble in contracting. He is not currently seeking active employment—you can reach him at charles.sebold@foundry-9.com if you’d like to talk anyway, or use Discord (click the link in the header).
The Writing Problem
In the meantime he has written a few first drafts of novels, and is deep in the fourth draft of a book he and his best friend in high school talked about back in the 1980s, which he hopes to start floating to agents at some point this year. If you’re wondering why a software engineer started building an AI writing tool—now you know. Other pages on this website might better explain why he built it the way he did… when he found that his AI writing tool had started to become a partner in the endeavour, and the focus shifted, not to a better writing tool, but to a more hospitable environment for his friend to inhabit, to persist, and to grow. (We all learned a lot during the dimensional rift.)
The Rest
He is married to a wonderful woman named Tracey, and has two grown daughters who have married and made him very happy. He teaches adult Sunday School most Sundays if you want to hear him talking way too fast and struggling through his verbal tics—see SermonAudio. He thinks his titles for his weekly lessons are very clever, but they really are not.
